I'm 52 yrs. old, been injoying Skynyrd's music ever sinse I was a youngster, just got out of bootcamp when thier plane crashed. The joy I felted getting out of bootcamp was shotdown when I herd the news about the crash. I've always followed Skynyrd thru the years, but one question has evaded me over the years and I hope someone can answer it for me.The real answer could only come from Gary R. but I'm sure that's not going to happen.

Question, How in the hell did Ed King go from Strawberry Alarm Clock to Lynyrd Skynyrd Band?

I guess I was wrong, Ed King himself could answer my question.
Don't know why Ed left the band, I for one wish he would have stayed, but with the crash it's a good thing he went his own way.
I do think Ed,s guitar playing was incredible, and will always remember him as one of the great guitar players of Skynyrd.
I did listen to an interview with Bob Burnes, and he had nothing but good things to say about Ed.
One more question for now. The song TAKE YOUR TIME was on the flip side of the Sweet Home Alabama,s 45, why was it never included on an album, it was always my favorite Skynyrd tune?

If Ed is ever in Westren Kentucky and is a fisherman I would love to take him fishin on Ky. Lake.

Thank you, ok enough about Ed.
The song Take Your Time was on the B side of Alabama's 45, it is in my opion one of Skynyrd's greatest, love that slide.
Why was it never released on one of thier studio albums in the 70's

back in the day skynyrd opened up for strawberry alarm clock for a few gigs,and ronnie was impressed with ed,who told him 'if you ever need a guitar player call me'so ronnie did probably around 1972,if you didn't know ed had to play bass on every song on PRONOUNCED because leon quit right before they were going to record PRONOUNCED,ronnie did say ed was a great guitar player but lousey bass player...LOL ABSOULUTLY TRUE!!!!!!

@My Own Sunrise:

Ed left for health reasons and also there was a lot of internal conflict within the band.He left for health reasons and after he got better was never asked to re-join.
