As I have stated before, I was at the Cincinnati gig in 1976. Santana was second on the bill and Ted Nugent was third. It was the second time I saw them. The first being at the Cincinnati Gardens in1974 when they opened for The J. Geils Band and nobody really knew who they were because it was a few weeks before SECOND HELPING was released. After that, as they say, the rest is history.

I first saw LS in Portland Oregon Memorial coliseum 1976,The main venue with ac dc.Ill never forget that concert.$6.50 for tickets.I was 13 at the time.Skynyrd was my favorite band besides LZ.I have to say I was really pissed when the new LS started and were called the real deal they are not the real deal. And to be honest I have just recently started to listen to them, they do sound good.I have my concert stub from that show.

May 16, 1976 Evansville, IN - -This was at Roberts Stadium. I was at this show just a few days shy of my 16th birthday. The Outlaws opened for them. This venue was demolished not too long ago. Many big name shows there. i.e. Elvis, Hendrix, Jackson, Bowie, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and everyone inbetween. Was sorry to see it go.

my first concert at 13 years old was Lynyrd Skynrd in Denver, Colorado on June 26th - 1977 -- venue was Mile High Stadium and it was listed as Sunday #1 Concert Event which hosted Charlie Daniels Band, Heart. Concert started at 12Noon and they played until 10PM. AWESOME CONCERT!!!

i will treasure this event forever -- especially when the crash took place afterwards -- and this was their last tour ever.

My 3rd album I purchased, saw them live Jun 27, 1977 Salt Lake City, UT, front row on railing in front of wall of speakers, right side of venue. Smoked a J with band member during warm up band performance, moved to railing with about 4 other dudes when they started, people rushed the stage and filled in the space between stage wall and front row seats. During the final song, FREEBIRD, some crazy guy, and it wasn't me, jumped over the guard rail and ran back stage with 2 MP policement chasing him. I thought it funny cuz the MP's actually unlocked the gate and didn't jump over themselves loosing valuable time. So the twin lead guitar solo was going on and this crazy dude climbs up front and center on the stage during the riff, the guitar leads just kinda looked at him a second then it was goodnight as a security bouncer with the bang gave him the best forarmed chiver i ever saw. This dude went head 1st into the 4th row!!! place went wild!! Sad witness of other beatings after the show, hung out for awhile and absorbed the atmosphere, end up hitchiking back to J street where my brother lived and smoked another J. Best show ever!
