REMEMBERING BILLY POWELL
William Norris Powell: June 3, 1952 - January 28, 2009
Let's all please take a moment to remember piano great Billy Powell today. It has now been two years to this day that we lost one of rock 'n roll's greatest piano players.
Below is a video from Powell's performance of "Sweet Home Alabama" during Skynyrd's Vicious Cycle Tour in 2003.
During the recent Simple Man Cruise Q & A, the guys said that Billy's white piano was found flooded in Nashville last year along with the rest of their equipment. Fortunately, they said it is being restored.

THEN & NOW - WAS I RIGHT OR WRONG
In this installment of the Skynyrd Nation Then & Now video series, we're featuring "Was I Right Or Wrong". The song was recorded during the original Muscle Shoals studio sessions in 1973, but it wasn't released until five years later. "Was I Right Or Wrong" was added to Second Helping when the album was re-issued in 1994 (originally released 20 years earlier in 1974).
