Where is everyone???

Hey Medway and Wickey - don't forget we are all waiting for your review of the Simple Man Cruise!!

Wickey has told me that he had dinner w/my favorite guitar god Rickey Medlocke. I'm in heaven just thinking about it. Can't wait to hear more!!! And see your pics on Face Book.

Speaking of Face Book - if any of you are on FB and want to see LOTS of great L/S pics - check out Norm Burn from the UK - he lives in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The ZZ Top show I saw last Friday, 11/2 was fantastic. Those guys really rocked and looked like they were having a good time doing it. The venue - the Main Street Armory in Rochester, NY was different. I swear I felt like I was at the prom since it was in a big old gymnasium that said it could hold 5,000. There were not that many there, but it was a small enough venue that you could pretty much see from every angle and work your way to the front easily enough. And the place comes w/it own ghosts or so says the show Ghost Hunters on SyFy!! I didn't see any, but I bet they were rockin' just like the rest of us. ZZ Top played all classics and 2 songs from their new album - I Gotsta Get Paid and Chartreuse. They played for an hour and 20 minutes. I'd go see them again in a heartbeat, or perhaps a Texas two-step!! If you get a chance - GO!! Oh - my pics are on Face Book.

Next Friday, 11/16, it will be the Zac Brown Band w/Blackberry Smoke!! Can hardly wait. I am surprising my boyfriend w/tickets to the show and a weekend away! So shhhhhh don't tell! ; )

Hay,Hay...to the one or two frynds who actually visit this site anymore..

Today, November 11th.......... is REMEMBRANCE DAY in Canada...

The First World War ended...........

on the eleventh hour..........

of the eleventh day............

of the eleventh month....in 1918.................

We have a very special day, (akin to your Memorial Day)

and we have 2 very special rituals........ that set us apart from your day..

(BTW....CBreeze and I enjoyed Memorial Day 2012 at Fenway Park in Boston,
and saw the largest "stars and stripes" covering the "green monster")

Firstly, we use the POPPY as a symbol of respect and honor for our veterans....

Proudly wearing it on our lapels...

and secondly...a poem written during WW1...

Please allow me to share it with you..........

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Author: Canadian Lieutenant Colonel John McRae

and the last thing I want to say

Looking for the next SUMMIT............

Loco "Scoops" here- - In case you missed my original thread post -

Legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline the previously announced CHOPPER LIVE: THE REVENGE on Tuesday, December 11th at 9pm ET/PT. Lynyrd Skynyrd joins an already extensive list of Discovery talent participating in this major television event, including AMERICAN CHOPPER stars Paul Teutul Senior and Paul Teutul Junior, OUTLAW GARAGE star Jesse James, and FAST ‘N LOUD stars Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman.

Last year, Paul Jr. beat out his father Paul Sr and nemesis Jesse James to take the title and the honor of ultimate bike builder when he won Discovery’s first ever AMERICAN CHOPPER LIVE. This year, all three are back – plus FAST ‘N LOUD stars Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman—to duke it out in an incredible four way bike build-off. In this two-night special, fans will to vote on their favorite bike after seeing the four finished products during our regularly-scheduled AMERICAN CHOPPER on Monday, December 10th at 9pm ET/PT. The following evening at 9:00pm ET/PT, CHOPPER LIVE: THE REVENGE will air from Las Vegas’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for what’s sure to be a night that will go down in Discovery history.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a great southern rock band. It saddens me to to see not much talk of past members. Without them...there would be no Lynyrd Skynyrd today.

Again I ask - where is everyone????

Many of my frynds on the boards know I listen to a UK Classic Rock station called Planet Rock (my good frynd Lesley from the UK introduced me to it) thru I-Tunes and on-line at http://www.planetrock.com/ - check it out, you will love it!! Their DJ's know what they are talking about and they play a lot of kick ass classic and new rock! And my frynds know I subscribe to the best rock magazine around also from the UK - Classic Rock Magazine. http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/ The two seem to be connected. CR Magazine is where our Lynyrd Skynyrd Fan Packs came from!! Great stuff right?!

To get to the point of my message Last night in London - Classic Rock magazine held their annual music awards show - far better than anything you'll see on our network TV - and I am so happy to say that Skynyrd won an award. Way to go guys and Honkettes!! They got the "Comeback Award" and played a 30-minute set for invited guests after a gala dinner. I am not sure where they went, as Planet Rock and Classic Rock have been covering them for years and years and actually play anything new as well.

I thought you all would like to read about the awards show -

Do check out Planet Rock and Classic Rock Magazine's sites. You won't regret it. Oh and if you listen to Planet Rock, just remember they are 5 hours ahead of us.

And no, I am not getting paid for this endorsement!! LOL!! I just like to share good music in multiple forms!!

Accordin to tha prognostacaters they should have great weather, ....Have a safe trip and a great show!!!........as far as nuthinfancy and myself.....we could go see Hot Tuna(insert smart ass coment here),I vagely remember somethin they did back in tha 70's. guess I will have ta google em and see if it might be worth goin (we havnt had to many shows ta choose from this year).

RIDDLE ME THIS:.....How in tha hell does somebody allow a train to hit a truck load of disabled vets and thier family's??
HEADS SHOULD ROLL FOR THIS ONE. Some were able to leap from tha truck before tha train hit BUT others were in wheel chairs and had no chance. As a Viet Nam vet...... This really pisses me off. The city leaders, tha parade organizers, and tha rail road should pay dearlly for this!!............And who gets more air tyme.....Lindsey Lohan........Wat a buncha shyt! Does this piss anybody else off???
