Have been a fan forever. Love you guys so much. Hope to catch you in concert. Have listened to "Last of a Dying Breed" LOVE IT. Love everything you do. I remember "What's That Smell". Knew someone who lived that song. Too bad for him. Have picked "FREE BIRD" to be played at my funeral whenever it will be. Keep up the great work.

Ronnie was Skynyrd // August 23, 2012 6:59:41 PM UTC

I've been listening to Skynyrd since '73. After seeing you on Fox and Friends & then "chatting" with one of those punks from The Five, I almost puked! I re-read Gene Odom's book after watching this pathetic display. Odom knew Ronnie Van Zant better than anyone. All I can say is that based on Odom's book and old interviews I have on DVD of Ronnie speaking is that if Ronnie Van Zant were alive today, he would not be "played a fool" by FNC. And he would probably still kick anyone's ass in the band that said otherwise. Ronnie was no racist! He was a "Simple Man." "Forget your lust for the rich man's gold" boys! Ronnie did not look down on anyone, unlike current members of this faux Skynyrd bunch. You guys need to go back & listen to "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe." Ronnie expressed his disgust for the racist attitudes of the politicians of his era like George Wallace in "Sweet Home Alabama." He would feel the same way today.

In conclusion, you guys either need to get back to being what Ronnie created or quit calling yourselves Lynyrd Skynyrd!!! The Lynyrd Skynyrd I knew & loved ended on October 20, 1977.

Big fan back in high school . . . and then got away from the band after the terrible crash and deaths. And yet, the music seemed better and better as the years passed. Just caught them on F and F and heard One Day at a Time and Last of a Dying Breed. WOW. I will be picking up this CD and am so happy to "be back."

And Rick Medlocke! Caught you five or six times with Blackfoot in late 70s and early 80s. We even chatted once at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA (you opened for Brownsville Station--should have been the other way around). You were very nice and I never forgot you or the great music.

And LOVE seeing you on Hannity. Glad you are a right-thinking man.
