Johnny Van Zant’s interview on John Boy & Billy – awesome!
I turned 51 last week, brought my first skynyrd record (2nd helping) when I was 13 and have loved their music ever since, full-fill my lifetime ambition next month when I see them play in New York. Can't wait to see them rock.
To all the guys in SKYNYRD and ladies you just keep on keeping on and getting better all the time. There is not a song that you guys and girls have ever made that I don't just dearly love, and Red White And Blue really hits my heart heavy because it is so very true.
Like I said before I love everything you guys and girls do but I do have some favorites
and they are Give Me Three Steps, Freebird, Simple Man , Skynyrd Nation and God And Guns.
I would also like to find out where Robert Kerns your bass player is from and the reason I ask is because my last name is Kerns and I have an Uncle and Great Uncle Robert Kerns and I was just curious to know where he was from?
The times I have seen you in concert are all in Virginia and you guys rock the house everytime.
I will be praying for all of you while you are on tour and in your everyday life that God will bless all of you and keep you in his tender loving care,
Again thanks so much for all your great music and keep it going guys you are getting better and better all the time...Rock On Southern Rock....Thanks so much for all your great music for all these great years...God Bless!!!!
Mr. Vnznt caught me starring at him in the checkout line at the local store. Of course i was star struck. Introduced myself as a fan and shook hands. I said to myself I had to say something since u only live once.

In 1987 I was on my way to North Carolina in a Grey hound bus. We made a stop in this particular part sof Louisiana and we had to stop for a bout 2 hours. I walked to a park near the bus station where I decided to wait before I left in a couple of hours for NC. This particular band was introduced to play and in fact people where cheering on for them to start playing. I was pretty far away, I say about 25 feet back and I could not see them playing. People kept asking for them to play Free Bird and after a while they did and that is when it really got wild, It had to be lynyrd skynyrd. The guitar and all had to'd been them but I got too happy and never went to see if it was them. I was too darn happy just freeken listening to them play. I no longer drink but I do have the good memories of that night.Little Joe..........
Johnny Van Zant -Awesome! Barney's Great Adventure! My daughter, now 5, loved that movie....you don't know how many times I have viewed this movie. And my two older children who will not admit it, but watched all the original Barney stuff back in the early 90's.
Can't wait to see you ALL Labor Day at the ATL Speedway. My 16 year old daughter is most excited since her Marching Band played your older songs this past season winning their competition. It was an amazing tribute to you all. These h.s. students played your music fantastic:) Rock on!
Excitement ......wicked interview!
=StratCat49 said:'saw the boys at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Hollywood this past August. It was the third time seeing them in this fabulous venue. They totally rocked the dump! I brought two friends that had never seen Skynyrd live before. They were blown away to say the least. I am happy to say I've been watchin' and listenin' to Skynyrd since 1974. I saw them play the first time in Detroit in 1976 with their hot new player 'Steve Gaines'. It's 34 years later and I love them all even more today. Can't wait for them to return to Calif in 2011. Rock on Boys.... Rock on!
