my response to the gimme back my bullets album is that it blew me away when i first heard it. I mean cum on first you have the title track which totally rocks but then you've got every mothers son, trust, i got the same old blues, double trouble, roll gypsy roll are you kidding me! Every song on that album is skynyrds heart and soul. why didn't we hear about every mothers son, trust, i got the same old blues! with allen's guiter riffs and gary's awsome rythum and killer lead as well. I end with this, I have seen skynyrd live 4 times and it might have change alittle now to more vocals from jonnie and driving rythum, but its the same bad southern born and bread fire rock. When i listen to this album i can't believe the band was so far ahead of its time. Every song has a meaning and ronnie sang them so well and allen, gary, and billy and the drums of artimus pyle on "trust" is wicked! T he thing i want to say is skynyrd sings and plays from the heart and that my friends is the very thing that true southern rock is about. God bless everyone who has passed. PLEASE SKYNYRD KEEP ROCKIN!!!! Can't quit yet!. Just keep on adding awesome new music! another chapter of my all time favorite band. No one will ever master the sound skynyrd conveys. EVER!!!!!!!!! When i die i want simple man played at my service. Because thats me. Here's to you Ronnie! YOU ARE A TRUE FREE BIRD

Went into a road house in New york State in 1976 to have few beers ,with some of my long haired friends and myself, we looked like we just got of the set of the long riders,(Western movie),the place sat about 400 or so ,our beers were takin a while ,so to entertain our selfs we started to sing Gimme back my bullets, then about 15 dudes came to our table to say we do like that music, your singin ,we said you do not like southern rock, they said no! one of my buddies, said i think we can take them,i said there is between 400-500 people in this joint,we left! I am now 49,hair is grey, all my kids love this story, growing up having this music in our lifes was such a blessing, even my youngest is Red White And Blue!

Have this album and the dvd/cd. This album never really got the credit it really deserved! Hard to think when Ronny sang this song in concert they threw real bullets at them!
