Posts: 1 Member #: 127,027 Joined: 10/26/2010	SKYNYRD NATION!!! That being said I'm finding myself slighted by some of the lyrics over the past couple of CDs. At first i just ignored it, but now I'm beginning to become upset. I LOVE this band and the idea that I don't enjoy some of their songs now because of their political bias is BS. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, sure, but I refuse to be insulted in the process or that it be assumed that I'm wrong for my beliefs. Some of the words in "Something To Live For" are very assuming and degrading if a person has a "left" way of thinking. PLEASE guys...don't take that direction. Stay with American values, love of God and county and LOVE of each other. Sadly, you don't speak for me in this song. I don't like this feeling.

Funny thing about the left, it is where the communist party is aligned and a supporter of. Fer shame! Why is the left the same as communist and what does this mean for America? Thank God Skynyrd is smart enough and wise enough to know the difference. If you don't like how you feel RIGHT now, then maybe it is because something is wrong with your way of thinking?

"MommaLyd" - (If that Truly is who you say you are and not one of the posters making another screen name)... To say that Skynyrd is offending Skynyrd Nation would be a flat out lie. I'm in the Skynyrd Nation - deeply embedded in it - and I'm not offended. People in this country are allowed their freedom of speech...well until Obama takes that away too... and Johnny, Gary, Rickey, and all are ALLOWED to have their right to say whatever they want. They have Democrats AND Republicans in the group. I'm a Republican. I have Democratic friends who love Skynyrd as well. Politics aside, Skynyrd writes songs from the heart... But more over, I'm sick of people like you - coming onto the board and flooding it with you're whining b.s. about how you don't like what they say or stand for. Skynyrd has always had a political side to them - even with Ronnie... If you don't like it, you can leave... Don't let the door hit you on the way out... This board here is for people to support the wonderful works and music of Skynyrd. If you want to join, or come on, just to stir things up, you can leave. Simple as that. They are not trying to offend you or anyone else-this is OUR America, as one union. Red, White and Blue. PERIOD. Oh, and if you don't know what bipartisan means, here's the definition: Bipartisanship is a political situation, usually in the context of a two-party system, in which opposing political parties find common ground through compromise. Try it sometime-it has worked for decades with the band. What you do for yourself dies with you, but what you do for others can live on forever.
