There are hundreds of thousands of fans of this band out there and not every one of them has to get the spelling correct all the time. I have been to hundreds of shows (not just Skynyrd ones) all over this country. I happen to be a big fan of MANY bands music and can not name all the members of the bands. All I know is I love the music because it speaks to me.

I would be willing to bet that if you went to a LS show in an arena with 10,000 fans you could not find 500 of them who can name every member of the band or how to spell their names correctly. So what? Does that make them love the music or the legacy of the band any less than the couple dozen hard core people who post here all the time?

This site is for ALL fans of this band. Young, old, long time followers or those who are just learning about the band today for the first time. Give them some slack. The biggest complainers are the same ones who are complaining about the many threads all dealing with the same topics but they have no problem writing post after boring post complaining EVERY TIME someone misspells the name. Why do you all feel the need to belittle and attack someone who might be a new fan of the band because they spell the name wrong? This forum is for everyone not just the few who think they are insiders or special because they have all the lyrics to every song memorized. Just because you happen to know a lot about the history of the band etc does not make you better than the next fan. Shoving it into the faces of the less informed fans however makes you look bad not them. SHARE that knowledge in a polite teaching manner and just maybe the newer fans will learn something and gain a better respect and understanding of this amazing band. Most fans come to the site to learn something or become a part of the Skynyrd Nation. Why do you want to chase them away by belittling them?

So please people. Try showing a LITTLE tolerance and stop attacking new posters or those who might have a different opinion than you do about what songs they want on a set list.

As far as the multiple threads...... again SO WHAT? We have a lot of new posters who love the band and the new CD. Not everyone has the time or desire to read through dozens of threads to find the proper one that YOU would like them to post something in. They are merely excited about the CD or maybe they want to post their feelings about how the band has changed their lives. You posting a complaint in every one of those threads berating them for not posting their comments in the thread YOU would prefer does not help anything. Read them or ignore them. Attacking the poster because they did not post where YOU think it should have gone is not productive.

And BTW with this new site and company I am not the only person monitoring these boards. There are about 6 or 7 others and we all will be removing any posts that serve no other purpose other than to attack other fans of the band. So contribute to the discussions all you want and continue to love and support your band but do so with respect for others.

I am new here, and was recently belittled by someone who has been on this and the old forum for a long time. We had words, (which were appropriately deleted) but he sure made me feel like what I had to say was insignificant.

Yes there are some "know-it-alls" on this forum, but they don't have the right to tell people, where they should post things, or what they can post about, or even get mad because someone has posted something that they have heard over and over.

I'm glad there are people like you on here, watching out for newcomers like myself.

Yes! Very well said Tom! I am thrilled that it was finally said. Personally spelling should not be a big thing. I have had to deal with my name being misspelt all my life, when I was a kid it irritated me, but now I just laugh about it. And my name is very simple to spell.

I know who ya are talkin to Tom and let me tell ya one thing............ I said ONE thing one ONE thread and ya make it sound like I put it all over the board. AND I welcome all new members with open arms, And I dont try to domanate nothin or tell people wat ta post. Maybe somebody needs ta get a sence of humor. And I dont belittle anyone except in a kidding manner. You ask anyone that has been on the boards OLD and NEW and they will tell ya how much support and respect I show all of tha band and Skynyrd Nation.

You are so right, Tom. I remember when I was a teenager and me and my best friend got some black paint and spray painted Lynard Skynard all over a red barn lol. It stayed there long after I learned the correct spelling lol. Regardless of the spelling, the music is awesome and eventually, after buying enough cds, folks will have the spelling of the name etched in their memory. Oh, and by the way, this is my first post lol.
